new classes added and a few spaces left

hey there everyone. we have been busy sewing random gifts, birthday gifts and starting on xmas gifts (yes i know it's just around the corner), thinking about classes for next year and having a lot of fun. just wanted to update you on a few classes we have added and some who still have spaces left.

NEW - zippy wallet class
due to this class being so popular we have added one last class for the year on the 21st November 6.45-9pm for these totaly cool wallets. everyone has left this class to go on to make them for just about everyone in their world and everyone i have come across LOVES my one of these ... in fact i asked one of my friends if she would like me to make her one for her birthday and she just emptied out the one i was showing her and said "yep i'll have this one thanks" and gave me my cards back :) was totally awesome!! you can whip these up in no time for very little cost. this is a class you won't want to miss. there are a few spaces left so be in quick :) class cost $20 plus materials

NEW - beginners crochet class
due to popular demand we have added another beginners crochet class. this will be the last one we run until next year so be in quick to book your place. awesome craft to do while relaxing at the beach, watching kids at the pool, hanging out at a picnic, sitting for 10 minutes at school pickup (yes i do all of those and totally love it). you will learn the basic stitches and how to make a granny square. ladies who have come to previous classes have gone on to make cushions, blankets, soft toys etc. book today cause you will LOVE it too!!! class cost $20 plus materials

workshop 33 jean pouch
there are still a few spaces available for this class on monday 31st october 6.45-9pm. this is a really cute denim pouch made from old jeans. its a quick and easy christmas gift for anyone in your world.  perfect to hold sewing accessories, pens and pencils, make it in a bigger size for a toilet bag or smaller for makeup. you will want to make a load of these :) class cost $20 plus materials

zippy critter class
there is one space left for this class. everyone will want one of these gorgeous little critters. perfect for boys and girls young and old they are a great way to use up your fabric scraps, buttons and zips.  you will receive an original pattern that has instructions to make them in a range of sizes from the little one we are making in class to a larger cushion.

just in closing wanted to share something i love.  you know how you think of people, old friends, mums, ladies who are your "aunties" from your childhood ... those special people in your world who aren't actually related to you by blood, sisters, nieces, or anyone else. people you think about but don't always send a birthday card or a random txt to say you are thinking about them.  the thing i have really loved since we started these sewing classes is that you can put a zippy wallet in an envelope with a handmade card and the whole lot will have cost you about mmm maybe $5?? plus postage? and that's only if you didn't use scraps and had to buy the fabric.  you can TOTALLY change someone's day. it's awesome. i love it and it's something i try to do often. we all get so busy with life ... but it's really nice to stop sometimes, spend some time creating which makes you feel so awesome and then put it in an envelope or drop it in a letterbox and make someone else's day. i always say "we might not be able to do a lot to change the world...but we all need to make sure we do the little we can do". we CAN change someone's world. we can MAKE them something and give it to them with love. just thought i'd share that as it's something that i love so much in my world. happy creating and look forward to hearing from you if you'd like to do any of the classes above

hope you have a great weekend ... olive-ann

would you like to make the cutest zippy critters?

hey there, we are planning to run a zippy critter class on monday 7th november 6.45-9pm. these gorgeous little critters are made from offcuts (or pieces of old clothes), thread, zip, stuffing and a few other bits and pieces. perfect for little or big kids, these darlings can be made big or small with loads of variations.  for the class we will be making one of the little guys who can hang with a latch to a school bag, kindy bag, handbag, bedhead or anywhere else ..... everyone is going to want one of these. class cost to be confirmed as i'm just sourcing a pattern supplier.  cost will include an original indygo junction zippy critter pattern. please let me know if you are keen to learn how to make these awesome stocking fillers.  a great low cost gift to whip up. happy creating. olive-ann

new classes are on the way ....

if you saw smoke in the sky this afternoon mixed between the hail and thunderstorms it's because our brains were doing lots of thinking.  while eating warm pikelets (have you ever tried them with butter and sprinkles? no? you most definately should) with kids happily playing, we were planning a few new classes for the rest of what's left of 2011 .... and starting the list of all the exciting classes we want to bring to you in 2012. if you have anything specific you'd like to learn please email me at workshop33@hotmail.co.nz and let me know.  i'll be putting up more details and photos in the next few days but for now you might want to book these dates out on your calender :)  one of our dreams with these workshops is to inspire you to create ... so instead of seeing something and thinking "wow i so wish i could make one of those" ... the reality is you can. come along, have fun, learn something new (or refresh something old) and leave with something YOU created.

the dates you will want to book out on the calender before anyone else in your house does.
